We believe Bitcoin ecosystem is on the brink of a layer 2 “Cambrian explosion”with a technical renaissance in development. Bitcoin NFTs through the Ordinals protocol have already been introduced. New use cases for Bitcoin have emerged with the SegWit and Taproot upgrades, which allow for fully on-chain NFTs and the utilization of the network as a data availability layer. These advances may give Bitcoin a fresh narrative that could attract untapped interest to the network. The true breakthroughs, however, will come once the necessary base layer functionality is established.
